Police In New Britain Twp. Make Arrests For DUI, Fraud, And Assault

Police reported the following incidents and arrests between August 1 and 20.

NEW BRITAIN TOWNSHIP, PA — The New Britain Township Police Department reported the following incidents and arrests between August 1 and 20.

During this tour, the patrol unit handled 18 traffic accidents, 22 alarm calls, 63 medical
emergencies, 33 abandoned 911 calls, and 446 crime and traffic accident prevention directed patrols.

August 1

  • Patrol responded to the area of County Line Road and Maple Avenue for the report of a vehicle that had crashed into a pole. The driver was found to be impaired and was taken into custody for DUI.

August 5

  • Officers were dispatched to the area of New Galena Road and Glen Drive for a single-vehicle traffic accident in which the operator of the vehicle was found to be impaired and taken into custody for DUI.

August 7

  • An officer was conducting a routine patrol along the 600 block of New Galena Road when they observed a known wanted subject. The subject was arrested on an outstanding warrant.
  • The patrol division stopped a vehicle at the intersection of Bethlehem Pike and Hilltown Pike. During their investigation, the driver of the vehicle fled. An arrest warrant was issued for the driver.

August 10

  • Police were called to SkyZone located at 145 Liberty Lane for the report an individual passed out in their vehicle. The offender was found to have narcotics. They were arrested and charged.

August 13

  • An arrest warrant was obtained for unlawful possession of a weapon and DUI in connection with a vehicle crash that occurred in June.

August 19

  • Members of the patrol division were dispatched to the 100 block of Hunter Way for the report of an assault. The suspect was located and taken into custody without issue and charged.

August 20

  • Officers were dispatched to Merck Sharp & Dohme for the report of fraud in progress. A suspect was identified attempting to cash large amounts of fraudulent checks. They were taken into custody and charged.
