Police Urge Caution After Luxury Car Thefts In Suburbs

Reports of luxury car thefts are on the rise in the Philadelphia suburbs, including in the Doylestown area, where a Range Rover was stolen.

Lock your doors, hide your valuables, close your windows, and take your keys. Those are just some tips to keeping your vehicles safer, which police are urging the public to do after a series of alarming luxury car thefts across the Philadelphia suburbs, according to CBS Philly.

The outlet reports area police have been investigating the thefts of Range Rovers, Audis, and Mercedes Benz, all happening in the suburban Philadelphia area. Recent incidents have been reported in Bucks County and along the Main Line.

Police in Warwick Township said last week they are investigating the theft of a Land Rover from a driveway on Almshouse Road. According to police, sometime in the early-morning hours on Oct. 10 or 11 (Sunday night into Monday morning), a white 2015 Land Rover was stolen from the driveway of a home along the 2000 block of Almshouse Road near Guinea Lane.

Police said the keys were in the car when it was stolen.

Radnor police reported two vehicles were stolen recently, including a 2015 Mercedes Benz from the Bryn Mawr area of the township.

The public is reminded to lock their vehicles overnight, make use of exterior driveway illumination if possible and set alarms where applicable, police said.
