The incident underscores the capabilities of the department's UAS Division, which was established in 2025, said police. Lieutenant Robert Meditz leads the UAS Division, which includes six sworn officers who are certified drone operators by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

The program is a collaborative effort, working alongside the Warrington Fire Service, which also has its own drone and certified operators. Warrington's UAS unit supports various operations, including emergency response and search-and-rescue missions, providing aerial overwatch for law enforcement activities, and assisting with community and civil events.
