Registration Open For Doylestown Memorial Day Parade
Registration is now open for groups to participate in the Doylestown Memorial Day Parade, the oldest of its kind in the country.
DOYLESTOWN, PA — Plans are shaping up for the 2019 Doylestown Memorial Day Parade, with registration now open for organizations interesting in participating.
This year's parade date is May 27. The deadline to enter your organization for participation is May 3. There will be a mandatory meeting for all participating organizations on May 16.
The parade, which celebrated its 150th anniversary in 2018, it is the oldest of its kind in the country.

Last year, approximately 1,700 people participated in the parade, including dozens of organizations and eight local school bands. The borough estimated 15,000 spectators watched the parade in 2018.
The event begins with a flag raising at War Memorial Field. From there, the parade begins at Central Bucks West High School. The route goes east on West Court Street, then east on West Court Street, North on Main Street, and then east on East Court Street to Doylestown Cemetery. The the cemetery, there is a 30-minute memorial service that includes United Veterans of Doylestown placing wreaths on the graves of fallen soldiers.

For participants, parade lineup and staging starts at 8 a.m. The parade steps off at 10 a.m.
