Resident Falls Victim To Fraud: Plumstead Township Police Report

Police also arrest driver on multiple warrants; investigate retail theft at Wine & Spirits store; report check stolen from mailbox.

PLUMSTEAD TOWNSHIP, PA — The Plumstead Township Police Department reported the following incidents and arrests between April 3 and April 8:

Monday, April 3

  • At 3:50 p.m., a Plumstead Township resident reported a fraudulent transaction on her bank account. The resident told police that $2,800 was withdrawn without permission. The victim was provided with a victim rights packet and is working with the department’s Victim Services Unit.

Tuesday, April 4

  • At 10:02 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a black Ford in the area of Easton Road. The 38 year old driver from Ferndale was found to have multiple outstanding warrants. The man was taken into custody for processing and arraigned.
  • At 10:42 a.m., officers were dispatched to the area of Swamp Road for an unwanted person. Officers spoke with a 33 year old man from Doylestown who had an outstanding warrant out of the Bucks County Sheriff’s Office. He was taken into custody and released to the Bucks County Sheriff’s Office.

Wednesday, April 5

  • At 9:09 a.m. officers responded to the Wine and Spirits Shoppe on Easton Road for a retail theft that occurred on March 22. The suspect concealed items with an estimated value of $131 before exiting the store without purchase. The incident is under investigation.

Friday, April 7

  • At 11:27 a.m., officers were dispatched to the area of Cheshire Road for a theft report. The resident reported that a check was taken from his mailbox and cashed without permission. The incident is under investigation.

Saturday, April 8

  • At 3:35 p.m. officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Swamp Road on a Silver Honda Civic. Upon speaking with the operator, the officer detected the odor of marijuana. Consent from the operator was given to search his vehicle and drug paraphernalia along with smoked marijuana was confiscated. Citations were issued.
