DOYLESTOWN, PA — The 2023 Thompson Performing Arts Series continues on Wednesday, August 23, at the C&N Amphitheater with a free performance by "River of Dreams," a Billy Joel tribute band.

The band features band leader Todd Omohundro on vocals, piano, and drums; Bo Neal Carson of Upper Black Eddy on keyboards and backing vocals; Damian Proulx on saxophones and backing vocals; Pat Byrne, on guitar; Rob Cochran, bass and back vocals; and drummer Dennis Barth, who teaches drums in Doylestown and is the drummer for two churches.

The song catalog of Billy Joel - the scrappy kid who was born in New York City and grew up on Long Island - is quite amazing. Epic even. Twelve studio albums with one jewel after another. And when a live band can perform these songs and get people to sing along, it is pure magic.

"River Of Dreams" faithfully recreates the sound and the feel of those classic songs. With a real love and respect for the music, Todd and his band bring life to such standards as:

  • Angry Young Man
  • You May Be Right
  • Allentown
  • Captain Jack
  • New York State of Mind
  • Scenes From an Italian Restaurant
  • We Didn’t Start The Fire
  • Only The Good Die Young
  • The Ballad of Billy the Kid
  • It's Still Rock & Roll To Me

“We are not impersonators,” says the band. “Our aim is to honor the aesthetics of Billy Joel's iconic sound and honor his unique place in music history all while having fun telling our own personal story.”
