Road Rage Incident, DUI Arrests: Central Bucks Regional Police Report

Police find two men huffing nitrous oxide from tank; Philadelphia man charged with passing counterfeit bill at pizza place.

DOYLESTOWN, PA — The Central Bucks Regional Police Department reported the following incidents and arrests between July 1 and 31:

July 1

  • Broad and Union Streets, Doylestown Borough. A 23-year-old man from Doylestown was cited for public drunkenness after officers observed and assisted the man who stumbled and fell in the street. The man also presented with slurred speech and an odor of alcohol.
  • 18 West Street, Doylestown Borough. A 67-year-old man from North Wales was cited for public drunkenness after refusing to leave the bar at the Doylestown Inn. The man presented with slurred speech, unsteady gait, bloodshot eyes, and odor of alcohol.
  • S. Pine Street, Doylestown Borough. A 31-year-old woman from Doylestown was arrested for DUI after her car struck a tree on June 30. Her behavior indicated possible intoxication resulting in field sobriety tests that she failed. The driver was transported to Doylestown Hospital for legal blood draw.

July 2

  • 86 W. State Street (86 West Restaurant), Doylestown Borough. A 67-year-old man from North Wales was cited for public drunkenness after falling asleep at the bar. The man presented with slurred speech and an unsteady gait. EMS was called to evaluate the man.

July 5

  • W. Butler Avenue and Lenape Drive, New Britain Borough. A 27-year-old man from Wall, New Jersey, was charged with drug violations following a traffic stop on June 29 for driving without a functioning brake light and passenger headlight. The man presented as fidgety, panicked and nervous. He admitted to having drug paraphernalia in the vehicle and consented to a vehicle search where an illegal substance was found.

July 6

  • N. Main Street, Doylestown Borough. A 22-year-old Jamison man and a 21-year-old Warrington man were cited for public urination.
  • E. Butler Avenue and Shady Retreat Road, New Britain Borough. A 63-year-old man from Doylestown was charged with DUI following a two-vehicle accident. The driver admitted to consuming alcohol before driving and was subsequently transported to the hospital for medical attention.

July 7

  • E. Oakland Avenue and S. Main Street, Doylestown Borough. A 41-year-old Doylestown man was charged with DUI following a traffic stop for traveling the wrong way down a one-way street. The driver presented with bloodshot, glassy eyes, slurred speech, the odor of alcohol, and avoided eye contact. A portable breathalyzer test confirmed intoxication. The driver refused field sobriety tests and legal blood draw.
  • W. Court Street and Memorial Drive, Doylestown Borough. A 57-year-old Warrington man was cited for harassment following a road rage incident on June 18. The driver was at a stop sign when the vehicle behind him honked its horn to prompt him to proceed. The driver got out of his vehicle and punched the other driver multiple times through an open vehicle window.

July 8

  • 425 S. Main Street (Wawa), Doylestown Borough. A 31-year-old man from Monroe Township, N.J., was cited for retail theft at the Wawa for not paying for six items.

July 9

  • S. Main Street and Hart Avenue, Doylestown Borough. A 47-year-old man from Warminster was charged with drug violations following a traffic stop for an expired driver’s license. The driver presented with a strong odor of marijuana and consented to a search of the vehicle where illicit drugs were found.

July 12

  • 555 N. Broad Street (Center Square Towers), Doylestown Borough. A 33-year-old woman from Doylestown was charged with drug violations following a verbal domestic incident where illicit drugs and paraphernalia were in plain sight.

July 13

  • E. Court Street, Doylestown Borough –A 21-year-old Hatfield man and a 21-year-old North Wales man were charged with the illegal use of solvents and public drunkenness after they were found huffing nitrous oxide from a tank. Both men presented with slurred speech and a strong odor of alcohol.

July 14

  • N. Main Street and Church Street, Doylestown Borough. A 31-year-old Lansdale man wa charged with DUI after police observed his vehicle blocking an intersection and conducted a traffic stop for a suspended vehicle registration. Sanders presented with slow and uncoordinated motor movements, bloodshot eyes, slurred speech, and an odor of alcohol.

July 15

  • Pearl Drive, Doylestown Borough. A 45-year-old man from Doylestown was charged with fraud and writing bad checks following an investigation. A victim contracted with the Doylestown man in August 2023 to perform work in October 2023. The victim paid a deposit of $2,000 with no work started or completed. When the victim requested the deposit be returned, the Doylestown man issued a check which was returned due to insufficient funds.
  • N. Broad Street, Doylestown Borough. A 52-year-old Chalfont man was charged with criminal mischief after damaging the entry/exit gate arm at the Bucks County Garage on July 1. Damages total approximately $765.
  • 416 Town Center (Nico’s Pizza), New Britain Borough. Tariq Naheem Burrell, 22, of Philadelphia, was charged with forgery, theft by deception, and receiving stolen property for passing a counterfeit $100 bill at Nico’s Pizza in March. Burrell was subsequently wanted by other agencies and taken into custody in Philadelphia. Burrell was arraigned and bail with conditions was set at 10 percent, $20,000.

July 19

  • Fairview and Hillside Avenues, Chalfont Borough. A 53-year-old Chalfont man was cited for public drunkenness after police observed him lying on the side of the roadway. He presented with an odor of alcohol and was unable to speak. EMS responded to provide medical attention.

July 20

  • 100 N. Main Street, Doylestown Borough. A 29-year-0ld man from Kitnersville was charged with DUI following a traffic stop for accelerating rapidly and cutting off a police vehicle. The driver presented with an odor of alcohol, bloodshot eyes, slurred speech, lethargic motor movements and unsteady gait. Field sobriety tests were failed and the driver refused a legal blood draw.

July 21

  • N. Main Street, Doylestown Borough. A 21-year-old Pittsburgh man was cited for public drunkenness after an officer observed him carrying an open beer bottle and getting sick on the sidewalk.
  • N. Broad Street, Doylestown Borough. A 39-year-old Norristown man was charged with simple assault and harassment following police response to a fight on July 10 resulting in the man punching the victim in the face.

July 22

  • Falcon Drive, Chalfont Borough. A 25-year-old Philadelphia woman was cited for harassment after sending hundreds of text messages and making phone calls to a former business partner.

July 23

  • N. Main Street, Doylestown Borough. A 22-year-old Perkasie woman was charged with simple assault, harassment, and disorderly conduct following a physical altercation on July 12. Police said the woman struck the victim several times and pulled the victim to the ground causing the victim to strike their head on the pavement.

July 25

  • Sioux Road, New Britain Borough. A 47-year-old Doylestown woman was charged with criminal mischief and a fireworks violation for setting off fireworks in a residential area on July 4 causing property damage to a neighboring property.

July 26

  • Sunset Avenue, Chalfont Borough. A 43-year-old Hatfield man was charged with DUI following a one-vehicle traffic accident in which his car struck a fire hydrant. The driver presented with glassy eyes and an odor of alcohol. Field sobriety tests were failed, and a subsequent legal blood draw was obtained at Doylestown Hospital.

July 27

  • Donaldson Street, Doylestown Borough. A 21-year-old Penns Park man was cited for public drunkenness after police responded to a subject sleeping and passed out on a chair outside a residence. The man presented with an odor of alcohol and slurred speech.

July 28

  • W. State and Clinton Streets, Doylestown Borough. A 53-year-old Warminster man was charged with DUI following a traffic stop for driving on the sidewalk. The driver presented with glassy/bloodshot eyes, slurred speech and unsteady gait. An open container of alcohol was observed in the cup holder of the vehicle. Field sobriety tests were failed and a subsequent blood draw was obtained at Doylestown Hospital.
  • W. State and Hamilton Streets, Doylestown Borough. A 27-year-old man from Perkasie, a 30-year-old man from New Hope, and a 22-year-old man from Warminster were cited for urinating in public.
  • 376 W. Butler Avenue (New Britain Inn), New Britain Borough. A 34-year-old woman from Doylestown was charged with DUI following police response to a two-vehicle accident in a parking lot. The driver presented with glassy eyes, strong odor of alcohol and had difficulty answering questions. Field sobriety tests were failed and the driver refused a legal blood draw.

July 1

  • Lynwood Avenue, Chalfont Borough. Unknown person(s) conducted a fraudulent transaction via Facebook resulting in a resident paying $300 and not receiving the product with communications being cut off.

July 15

  • Reene Circle, Chalfont Borough. An unknown person stole a delivered package containing three cell phones from the front steps of a home. Property valued at $2,400.

July 17

  • 425 S. Main Street (Wawa), Doylestown Borough. Unknown person(s) stole products for three consecutive days at 6 a.m.

July 19

  • Kaylin Cor, Chalfont Borough. Unknown person(s) stole a delivered package containing an I-Pad, from outside of a residence. Property valued a $266.

July 26

  • Chestnut Street Park, Chalfont Borough. Unknown person(s) vandalized the gazebo by tearing off one of the benches and tearing down several spindles.

July 30

  • Bridge Street, Doylestown Borough. Unknown person(s) stole three ceramic flowerpots from a resident’s property.
