Road Rage Incident Escalates Into A Fight In Warrington: Police

Drivers from Warrington and Churchville were cited by police for disorderly conduct.

WARRINGTON, PA — Two men have been charged with disorderly conduct following a road rage incident that escalated into a fight on Feb. 14 at Easton and Bristol roads in the township.

At about 4 p.m., a Warrington resident told police that he was turning right onto Bristol Road when a dump truck operated by a Churchville man cut in front of him after going through a red light.

The truck driver told police he was operating a dump truck with a trailer when a car pulled out in front of him causing him to slam on the brakes.

Both drivers exchanged middle fingers with each other, police said.

The incident escalated after the vehicles pulled into different parking lots - the Warrington man parking at the Hatboro Federal Savings Bank and the Churchville truck driver at Verizon.

That's when the Warrington man said he saw the truck driver walking towards him and grabbed a golf club from his trunk to defend himself. The truck driver, he said, began yelling for him to hit him.

The Warrington man told police that he told the truck driver to get away from him and shoved his fingers into the man's face. The truck driver, he told police, then grabbed him in a headlock and took him to the ground. He then elbowed the man in the face breaking his glasses, he told police.

The truck driver told a different story. He said the Warrington man charged him with a golf club. When he ducked, he hip-checked the man knocking him to the ground.

Both men were cited by police for disorderly conduct.
