Road, Utility Projects To Impact Traffic In Doylestown

Repaving project continues overnight on East and West State Streets; utility work expected to begin on Tuesday in Doylestown Borough.

DOYLESTOWN, PA — Motorists are advised of the following road projects in the Doylestown area that may impact their travels. Two major projects are scheduled this week including the nightly repaving of State Street and the start of PECO utility construction work on Tuesday.

Doylestown Borough Repaving Project

Drivers are advised of the following travel restrictions:

  • Monday, August 3, to Friday, August 7, from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m., a lane closure with flagging will be in place on State Street between U.S. 202 (Buckingham Pike) in Doylestown Township and Ashland Street in Doylestown Borough for milling and base repair.
  • Monday, August 3, through Friday, August 7, from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m., a lane closure with flagging will be in place on State Street between the State Street overpass of Route 611 (Doylestown Bypass) in Doylestown Township and Court Street in Doylestown Borough for milling and base repair.

Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent. Under these resurfacing and improvement projects, PennDOT’s contractors are repairing, milling, and repaving state highways with new asphalt pavement that will seal roadways and provide motorists with a safer and smoother riding surface.

Doylestown Borough PECO Utility Work

Beginning on Tuesday, PECO Energy will be conducting street work along sections of State and Main streets in Doylestown Borough. Drivers are advised that State and Main will be closed and detoured one section at a time, beginning Tuesday, August 4, and continuing through Friday, Dec. 4, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. at the following locations:

  • State Street will be closed and detoured between Clinton Street and Hamilton Street. During the closure, drivers will be directed to use Court Street and Hamilton Street.
  • State Street will be closed and detoured between Hamilton Street and Main Street. During the closure, drivers will be directed to use Clinton Street, Ashland Street, and Main Street.
  • State Street will be closed and detoured between Main Street and Donaldson Street. During the closure, drivers will be directed to use Court Street and Pine Street.
  • Main Street will be closed and detoured between State Street and Court Street. During the closure, drivers traveling southbound will use Court Street, Clinton Street, and Oakland Avenue. Drivers traveling northbound will use Ashland Street, Clinton Street, and Court Street.

Local access will be maintained at all times. Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling near the work areas or along the detour routes because backups and delays may occur. The schedule is weather dependent.

Doylestown Township Utility Work

Daytime lane closures are scheduled on Bristol Road in Doylestown and Warrington Townships between the U.S. 202 Parkway and Tradesville Drive. PECO is scheduled to conduct utility construction with lane closures between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.
