Doylestown Rotary Club Helps Turn the Town Teal for Ovarian Cancer Awareness
Members of the Rotary Club of Doylestown and their families fanned out across Doylestown in support of "Turn the Towns Teal".

The Rotary Club of Doylestown provided volunteers and funds for supplies to help turn Doylestown teal for the month of September in commemoration of National Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month. After Mayor Ron Strouse and Doylestown Borough Council issued a proclamation officially naming September Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month, the Rotary Club of Doylestown stepped up and rallied members and their families to help tie teal ribbons throughout the town in an effort to raise awareness of a disease that affects thousands of women across the country each year.
Joan Doyle, a Doylestown Borough councilwoman, has been organizing the event for the past several years. “Turn the Towns Teal” is a national campaign that began in 2007 in an effort to raise awareness of ovarian cancer and its silent symptoms. According to the Turn the Towns Teal® organization, early detection can lead to survival rates of up to 95%.
“We are extremely proud to sponsor and support this most worthwhile community effort to Turn the Town Teal. Because ovarian cancer has touched many members of our local community, we recognize the importance of early detection and are happy to do our part to help raise awareness,” Rotary Club of Doylestown president John Ortolf said.
