Roxy Therapy Dogs’ Canines Win at Westminster and Corgi Specialty

Roxy™ Therapy Dogs is known in the community for its 70+ certified therapy dogs who bring comfort and support to 3,200 children per week in CBSD schools, the courthouse, Pedia Manor, and other venues. Yet in May, two Roxy™ dogs competed in national dog shows and brought back ribbons.

Cru, a Leonberger, is 2.5 years old and 150 lbs. and took the “Select” ribbon (essentially third place) from a field of 12 Leonbergers at the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show in New York. Cru and his owner, Andrea Dadigan of Doylestown, read with Mrs. Rosztoczy’s third-grade class at Buckingham Elementary, visit the Bucks County Justice Center, attend community events, and are members of the Roxy™ Responders Trauma Response Team, which Andrea directs. The team also volunteers for Doylestown Health, separate from Roxy, and was featured in a Fox Sports News account of their work there for the dog show.

Another winner in the show ring, Penny, a Cardigan Welsh Corgi owned by Jen Smith of Doylestown, competed in the Cardigan Welsh Corgi National Specialty in Wilmington, OH. Penny took ribbons in Scent Work Novice Containers, qualified for Fast CAT®, and proudly marched in the parade of therapy dogs.
