New Britain Twp. Safety Inspection Takes 5 Trucks, 2 Drivers Off The Road

One of the trucks taken out of service during the detail was transporting hazmat with defective brakes, inspectors said.

NEW BRITAIN TOWNSHIP, PA — Five trucks and two drivers were taken off the road during a safety inspection along the busy U.S. 202 business corridor and on County Line Road and Bristol Road.

The Central Bucks Motor Carrier Safety Enforcement Team was in New Britain Township on Wednesday to inspect commercial motor vehicles along the busy corridor.

During the detail, New Britain Township Police reported that 11 vehicles were inspected; four had no violations while seven were found to have violations.

Twenty-eight violations were discovered, including 10 out-of-service violations.

As a result of the inspection, five trucks were taken out of service for brake violations and cargo securement violations. One of the vehicles was transporting hazmat with defective brakes, inspectors said.

Two drivers were taken out of service, one for driving with a disqualified/expired Class A CDL, and one for operating a vehicle while in possession of marijuana.

Nine traffic citations and 19 traffic warnings were issued.
