SCORE Bucks County to Offer 3 ‘Starting a Business’ Workshops
The free workshops will be held at 3 Bucks locations on April 18, May 12 and May 18.

Entrepreneurs interested in starting a business, new business owners seeking help moving their business forward or undertaking a major growth initiative can gain valuable insight during one of two SCORE Bucks County “Start a Business” workshops. The nonprofit business mentoring organization will offer workshop on April 18 at Delaware Valley University in Doylestown; on May 12 at Margaret R. Grundy Memorial Library in Bristol; and on May 18 at Upper Bucks Chamber of Commerce.
SCORE Bucks volunteer Donald Goeltz, a certified mentor, entrepreneur and, most recently a college professor, will lead the workshop discussion. Sessions will be limited to about 25 people, Goeltz said, noting that the goal is to provide a more hands-on, interactive approach to learning.
During the workshop Goeltz will provide an overview of the start-up process and stages.

“It’s about taking an idea and ensuring it’s a good business opportunity,” Goeltz said. “We’ll help them figure out who their customer is. We’ll help them clearly define what it is that they’re planning on doing.”
Business success most assuredly lies in the details. During the workshop, attendees will learn how to define in detail their business offering, their typical customer, customers’ needs and gain more in-depth insight about their prospects. Goeltz will also shed light on the type of business partners needed, as well as the various resources available, including free SCORE Bucks County in-person, on the phone or email mentoring sessions.
