Search For Missing Boy Ends Tragically At New Britain Borough Pond
Police said when they arrived at the scene they found a boy's bicycle with a fishing pole next to it, but no sign of the boy.
NEW BRITAIN BOROUGH, PA — The search for a missing 9-year-old boy ended tragically Monday evening at a pond in New Britain Borough.
Just before 6 p.m., the Central Bucks Regional Police Department responded to the area of a pond at Vaux and Hickory roads for the report of a missing boy.
Police said when they arrived they found a boy’s bicycle with a fishing pole next to it, but no sign of the boy. A quick inspection of the pond also produced no results, police said.

A dive team from the Point Pleasant Fire Department was called to the scene and located the young boy within a few minutes. He was transported to Doylestown Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 7:01 p.m.
Police have not released the identity of the boy.

“Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family during this traumatic time," said police in a statement. "We extend our thanks to the Doylestown Fire Department, Central Bucks Ambulance, the Bucks County Special Operations Drone Team, and the Point Pleasant Fire Department Dive Team.”
