Burglar Steals 15 Exotic Baby Birds From Pa. Pet Shop
The owner of Bird Mania pet shop in Allentown says she fears the baby birds will die unless they are found soon because they were unweaned.

It’s not your typical burglary: 15 birds, snatched from their cages at a Pennsylvania pet shop. And now, the shop’s owner is desperately seeking information.
Not just because the birds are worth thousands of dollars.
Because she fears the birds’ lives are in danger—some were as young as 7 weeks and need to be hand fed to survive.

Debbie Lentz, the owner of Bird Mania pet shop in Allentown, says she fears the birds will die unless they are found soon because they were unweaned.
“These precious babies will not survive without being hand fed formula several times a day,” according to Lentz, who posted about the incident on Facebook. “PLEASE keep your eyes open for someone trying to sell our little ones. Please help.”

Lentz told the Morning Call that a burglar entered through the bathroom window Tuesday night and took the birds, which have a retail value of $9,000. Now she fears someone is trying to sell them.
“Can’t believe how sick people are. They were babies, my babies. My heart is broken,” Lentz said on Facebook.
The birds are between 7 and 12 weeks old. The stolen birds include: one African Grey; three Bright Yellow Indian Ringnecks; two Alexandrine; one Derbyan; three Canary Wing; one Sun Conure; one Jenday; one Cin Grn Chk; one Normal Grn Chk; and one Black Cap.
“I want my babies back,” Lentz said.
Anyone with information about the birds should call the police at 610-437-5252.
