One Killed After Cement Mixer, Car Collide In Warrington

WARRINGTON, PA — One person was killed Thursday morning in a four-car crash in Warrington Township that involved a cement mixer.

The crash on Limekiln Pike resulted in a "large amount" of hazardous fluid leaking. PennDOT and the local public works department responded to prevent the fluid form entering the storm drains, police said.

The roadway remained closed several hours after the 10 a.m. crash. A private environmental cleanup company was called to the scene.

The victim has been identified as Jose Ricardo Canales Rivera, 39, of Souderton.

According to police, the crash occurred when a southbound cement truck crossing Upper State Road collided with a northbound Chevrolet Camaro. The cement truck rolled over on its side.

Both drivers were extricated. The person in the Camaro was transported to Doylestown Hospital with "very serious" injuries, police said. He was later was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Two other cars were hit after the initial impact between the truck and the Camaro but no additional injuries were reported, authorities said.

Warrington Police are handling the investigation. New Britain Township and Central Bucks Regional Police assisted.

Warrington and Chalfont Fire Companies assisted at the scene, as well as Warrington and Chalfont Ambulance companies.
