Snow Plow Ignites at New Britain Wawa

The store, a Butler Avenue and County Line Road, was closed for a few hours Tuesday as a result of the blaze. No injures were reported.

A snow plow ignited in the parking lot of a New Britain Township convenience store Tuesday. The store, a Wawa, was closed for a few hours but no injures were reported, according to police.

According to New Britain Township Police, officers responded to the Wawa at Butler Avenue and County Line Road for a report of a truck fire.

The driver of the truck told police he had been plowing the parking lot after the recent snow storm when an engine compartment fire erupted, according to a post on the New Britain Township Police’s Facebook page.

The driver, a volunteer firefighter, was unable to put out the blaze with “several” fire extinguishers, according to police. No one was injured.

The Chalfont Fire Department and Montgomery Township Fire Department responded to extinguish the blaze.
