The gala is a major fundraiser for the center, which has been entertaining audiences since 2017.

DOYLESTOWN, PA —The Bucks County Center for the Performing Arts will hold its first Spring Gala on Thursday, April 27 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Michener Art Museum in Doylestown.
The show will feature performances by Taylor Rae Carter and Louis Jannuzzi from the center's production of "The Fantasticks;" Renne McFillin and Zach Chiari performing selections from "The Great American Songbook;" Jenny Lee Stern, as Mama Rose, from this season's production of "Gypsy;" and Anne Shea Safran of Central Bucks West High School who will sing and tap dance to "Anything Goes."

"We are trying to bring in young, new talent and when I went to the CB West High School production of 'Anything Goes,' Anne Shea knocked my socks off. She will entertain you at the gala, and hopefully be part of shows for the 2024 season," said artistic director Howard Perloff. "Jenny Lee Stern, who will be playing Mama Rose in this season’s Gypsy, will sing Rose’s “Turn”.

The gala is a major fundraiser for the center, which lost a year of fundraising due to COVID. In 2021 and 2022, the center gained in assistance from government grants. Those grants, however, are now gone and the center is short on the capital it needs to survive.
