Doylestown's State Street Players Present '3 Gallons of Crazy in a 2 Gallon Bucket'
Get ready to laugh as the 100 Doylestown-area residents perform their 'annual assault on the performing arts.'

Today's entertainment is faster and louder than ever before. Video games and social networking battle with TV and movies for our daily attention, and it seems entertainment is often measured in bits and bytes instead of laughter and songs.
The State Street Players are familiar with the digital competition they face from modern entertainment media.
For each for the past 39 years, more than 100 Doylestown-area residents write, produce and perform the annual show, as well as build their own sets and construct the stage itself in the Our Lady of Mount Carmel School auditorium during their "annual assault on the performing arts."

Cathy Wilson, producer of the 2017 show, notes the State Street Players' annual shows are perfect for audiences who want to unplug their digital entertainment and spend an evening out enjoying live entertainment at a reasonable price.
"In the age of athletes and movie stars whose values and performances leave many people scratching their heads, we offer a simpler form of entertainment provided by people who work for a living and volunteer their time and energy to the performing arts," Wilson said.

This year's show, 3 Gallons of Crazy in a 2 Gallon Bucket, will be held March 10-11, 17-18, and 24-25, 2017, in the Our Lady of Mount Carmel School Auditorium, 225 East Ashland Street, Doylestown, PA.
Liz Wilson, director of the 2017 show, explained this down-home-country theme takes audience members on frolicking romp through the rich history of TV, film Broadway, and Americana.
"The audience will recognize many country songs from the past through today, plus some classic TV and movie scenes they wouldn't have expected," she said, adding that song-and-dance routines are interspersed with comedy skits, heavy on physical and satirical humor.
The group will spend a total of six months in production, from initial writing in October until the March show dates.
Producer Wilson credits the group's longevity to the creativity and enthusiasm of its members, who represent many careers and backgrounds.
"We have attracted more members this year than in prior years. We believe that's due to the artistic expression we can provide, and our joint interest in bringing our unique style of entertainment to Doylestown."
Businesses around Doylestown and the surrounding areas can get visibility from the nearly 2,000 total audience attendees by advertising in the show program, or donating goods and services for raffle baskets to be raffled off at each of the six shows.
