Stray Bullet Shatters Sliding Door, DUI Arrests In Plumstead Township
Police also respond to several domestic calls and investigate fraudulent activity.
PLUMSTEAD TOWNSHIP, PA — The Plumstead Township Police Department reported the following incidents and arrests between April 22 and April 27:
April 22
- At 7:55 p.m., officers were dispatched to Pear Drive for a verbal dispute. When officers arrived the complainant told police that the neighbor got upset that someone was using their basketball net without permission. Officers were able to de-escalate the situation and cleared without further incident.
April 23

- At 10:50 p.m., officers were dispatched to Winterberry Drive for a domestic in progress. When the officers arrived, they were met by the victim who said that his son was under the influence of alcohol and they had gotten into a physical fight. The victim sustained minor injuries to the neck and face. Officers arrested the 23-year-old son for domestic assault. He was arraigned and bail was set with conditions that he does not have contact with the victim. The victim was provided with a victim’s rights packet.
April 24
- At 1:56 a.m., officers were patrolling North Easton Road when they observed a vehicle parked in a lot. When the officer approached the vehicle to speak with the driver inquiring why they were parked there the officer noticed the driver showed signs of impairment, slurred speech, and the smell of alcohol on his breath. The officer asked the driver to perform a field sobriety test which he unsatisfactorily performed. The officer arrested the 58-year-old for driving under the influence. Charges are pending blood alcohol results.
- At 3:36 p.m., a woman called police to report fraudulent activity on her bank account. The woman said that she believed that she was on the phone with her bank and that they informed her that her password had to be reset. After logging back into her account, she realized that more than $2500 had been withdrawn without permission. The case is under investigation.
April 26

- At 10:45 a.m., a Plumstead resident came into the station to file a fraud report. The man told police that he attempted to purchase a cellphone on Facebook marketplace. He paid $350 using the Zelle application but never received the phone. The man contacted his bank and took all necessary steps. The officer provided the man with a victim’s right packet. The case is under investigation.
- At 10:34 p.m., officers were patrolling Swamp Road when they observed a vehicle with a blacked-out license plate cover. The officer conducted a traffic stop. While the officer was speaking with the driver, the driver informed the officer that his license had been suspended. The officer confirmed that the license was suspended. The driver was also unable to provide proof of insurance and displayed fraudulent inspection stickers. While talking to the driver the officer also noticed marijuana in plain view. The 22-year-old man from Philadelphia was arrested. Charges are pending.
April 27
- At 10:49 a.m., officers responded to Township Line Road for a report of a bullet that had hit a house. When the officer arrived, they were met by the complainant who reported that his back glass sliding door was hit by a bullet and shattered. The officer noticed that the projectile was lodged between the two panes. The individual who was responsible came over and explained what happened. Both parties came to an agreement about replacing the door and the officer informed him to be more careful with gun control. Both parties were satisfied and officers left without further incidents.
