Sweet Pea Ice Cream Opens in Plumsteadville Village

The long-time local favorite opens in the former Carroll's Seafood

The warm late-October weather seemed appropriate for the grand opening of the The Salt Box, the newest location for Sweet Pea Ice Cream, located at 5840 Easton Road in Plumsteadville Village.

The location offers gourmet Philadelphia-style pretzels, breakfast sandwiches, and--of course--the Sweet Pea ice cream they are famous for. They are featuring their Pumpkin Gingerbread ice cream, a seasonal favorite throughout Bucks County.

Customers were seen walking from nearby Cabin Run Estates to enjoy the ice cream.

Their iconic Milk Truck is parked next to the building among picnic tables, creating the perfect socially-distanced spot to enjoy the food.

The store opens at 7am daily to serve breakfast sandwiches on their pretzels.

"Celebrating with a sense of normalcy has been difficult for everyone this year," according to their website. "We wanted the community to have an outdoor space where they could host a party with comfort, spread out, and have a little fun with loved ones. We hope we've created a place for people to come and ENJOY."

Carroll's Seafood closed its doors in April 2017. The building, in its prime location in the center of Plumsteadville Village, sat empty until the Salt Box opening this week.
