A&T Subaru Donates New Shoes and Socks to Children in Need

Imagine having to go without properly fitting shoes and socks on a regular basis. For millions of children and adults experiencing homelessness and other urgent need situations across the country and even locally, this can be a harsh reality.

Helping others is the key to a strong community, which is why A&T Subaru believes in helping to support individuals and families in urgent need. And this year, during Subaru Loves to Help® month, A&T Subaru joined Subaru and retailers nationwide in partnering with Operation Warm, a national nonprofit focused on connecting children with the resources they need to thrive. This partnership will amplify our continued support for those who need it most.

The A&T Subaru team recently visited Keystone Opportunity Center in Souderton, donating 204 new pairs of children’s shoes – with socks. The A&T Subaru team spent the afternoon with the Keystone clients, helping them select their favorite color and try on their new shoes.

“The smiles from the kids beamed wide as they selected the color shoes they wanted. The parents attending were deeply grateful for the love and generosity of all involved,” said Malcolm Friend, Director of Resource Development at Keystone Opportunity Center.

These essential items not only help keep children protected, warm, and dry, they can have a significant impact on a child's mental and emotional well-being, often meaning the difference between going to school or not; between participating in activities or sitting out.
