A tax increase has been approved in Doylestown Township.

The township supervisors on Tuesday passed a $13.979 million budget, which will result in an increase from 10.25 mills to 10.875 mills, according to the Intelligencer. The increase will be about $25 more per property owner, the Intelligencer reported.

Officials said the increase is needed for road repairs as well as improvements to and bridges and culverts, as well as funding for ambulance services, according to the report.
