Telford Chef Appearing On Food Network’s "Chopped"

TELFORD, PA - A Telford chef and business owner will be appearing on the next episode of “Chopped,” airing on Tuesday, April 30 at 8 p.m. on the Food Network.

Chef Shelby Fahrni, who owns and operates The Cooking Studio on West Broad Street, will be showcasing her skills on the show’s first-ever Regional Italian Tournament, Battle Italiana, representing the Emilia Romagna region of Italy.

During the episode, four chefs will get to the heart of Italian cuisine as they explore the incredible influence that the robust Emilia-Romagna region has on the culinary world.

“A slithery surprise and a frozen favorite challenge the chefs in the appetizer round, and those who make it to the entrée round have very different ideas for their veal and mushroom dishes,” reads a teaser for the show. “Then, the two competitors who remain for the dessert round
endeavor to represent themselves and their region.”

During the show, hosted by Ted Allen, four chefs call on their culinary skills as they face off against one another to prepare a spectacular three-course meal consisting of an appetizer, entree and dessert.

The catch? In each round, they have to use all the ingredients the show provides them, however unlikely they might be … At the end of each course, a panel of three guest judges ‘chops’ one chef who fails to measure up in terms of taste, presentation and creativity. The last chef standing takes home bragging rights and a cool $10,000.

Chef Shelby opened The Cooking Studio a year ago offering cooking lessons from novice to expert inside its state-of-the-art commercial kitchen.
