Theft Of $20K Worth Of Equipment Tops Plumstead Twp. Police Report
The Plumstead Township Police Department reported the following incidents between April 2 and April 5.
PLUMSTEAD TOWNSHIP, PA — The Plumstead Township Police Department reported the following incidents between April 2 and April 5:
April 2
- At 11:05 a.m., a Plumstead resident reported an incident of fraud. The resident told police that an attempt was made to open a business account under their name, then a second attempt was made for a business loan. The bank did not fulfill the request as they found it suspicious and notified the resident. Later that day the resident received a letter from PennDOT requesting confirmation of a change of address that was filed. The resident was provided with a victim’s right packet as well as an Identity theft packet. The case remains under investigation.
April 3

- At 3:05 p.m., a resident told police that he had purchased a $1,200 computer online that was scheduled to be delivered to his home on April 3. The resident was tracking the delivery and noticed the FedEx truck down the street from his home, but the driver never exited the truck for delivery. Moments later the resident was alerted that the package was delivered and signed for, which he said did not occur. The case is under investigation.
April 5
- At 3:10 p.m., a business employee came into the station to file a theft report. The complainant told police that an individual came into the business to rent a piece of equipment. The individual never returned the piece of equipment within the contract time frame. The rental equipment was valued at $20,000. There was a second contract signed by another individual for equipment valued at $969 and was not returned within the contact time frame. The cases are under investigation.
