Thompson Arts Series Closes With Bigg Romeo, Cherry Lane In Doylestown

Food Truck Festival scheduled to pull into Doylestown Township on Sunday, Sept. 22.

DOYLESTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — The Thompson Performing Arts Series closes this week with a performance on Wednesday, Sept. 18 by Bigg Romeo followed by a weekend performance by Cherry Lane at the township's annual Food Truck Festival.

Since 1996, the Philadelphia dance band known as Bigg Romeo has been enchanting audiences with its musical prowess. The band, comprised of eight of Philadelphia’s foremost musicians, navigates diverse musical styles and seamlessly traverses songs from various eras and genres.

The band is scheduled to take the stage at 7 p.m. at the Central Park Amphitheater.

The series concludes with Doylestown’s own Cherry Lane, a high-energy rock and rhythm and blues band, performing on Sunday, Sept. 22 as part of the township’s Food Truck Festival from 1 to 5 p.m. at Central Park.

The event will feature a variety of food trucks, Warwick Farm Brewing, and fun for the whole family. Bring blankets or chairs and enjoy the sounds of Doylestown’s own Cherry Lane Band from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. as the Thompson Performing Arts series concludes at the C&N amphitheater.

Cherry Lane, featuring an amazing horn section, has been bringing high-energy rock and R&B to local crowds for more than 20 years. From classics by Chicago, Steely Dan and Bruce Springsteen to current favorites from Bruno Mars and Maroon 5, the band keeps all ages dancing.

Food trucks taking part in this year's festival include Ardana Pizza, Bonjour Creperie, Caramel Kitchen, Fiesta Churros, Hardy Funnel Cakes, Humpty’s Dumplings, Hungary Moon, Jack & Jill, Jules Thin Crust Pizza, Kona Ice, Kona Pizza, Meat Wagon, Moshava, Mr. Big Stuff Cookie, Salty Vets, Spuddy Buddy, Sweet Thangs Nut & Candy, Tot Rod, and Warwick Farm Brewing.

The free musical series is sponsored by The Thompson Organization which is made up of four dealerships: Thompson Toyota, Thompson BMW, Thompson Lexus Doylestown, and Thompson Lexus Willow Grove, as well as Thompson Detail Center and Thompson Collision Center.
