TMA Bucks Executive Director Recognized For 20 Years Of Service

JAMISON, PA — Steve Noll, who has served as executive director of the Bucks County TMA for the past 20 years, was recognized by the nonprofit transportation management organization during its annual celebration lunch on Dec. 8 at The Bucks Club.

Noll, a Bucks County native, joined TMA Bucks as its first deputy director in January 2002. He was promoted to executive director in 2018 after briefly serving as acting executive director for a year.

TMA Bucks deputy director David Walter recognized Noll’s many professional accomplishments during his 20 years with the TMA and complemented Noll on his strong leadership qualities of caring for his employees as people first.

“TMA Bucks thrives as an organization because of the work environment that Steve has created and Bucks County is so fortunate to have Steve as the leader of the TMA,” said Walter. “We can only hope he serves another 20 years!”

TMA Bucks board member Bryan Allen, who serves as chief of staff for State Representative Tina Davis, presented Noll with a citation on behalf of the Bucks County delegation of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives.

“I certainly never pictured this being what I'd do when I grew up, let alone make a career of,” said Noll. “I took a job at another TMA in the Philadelphia area as a way to reestablish myself in Bucks County after a couple of years living and working in radio broadcasting in central Pennsylvania. One thing led to another, and suddenly I've been with TMA Bucks for more than 20 years.

"I'm living proof that life can take you in directions you never imagined and that sometimes your passion finds you instead of the other way around," he continued. "My father and uncle served the people of Bucks County as employees of the Bucks County Department of Health for more than 40 and 30 years, respectively, and my mother was also a Bucks County employee for nearly a decade, so I suppose it's only natural that I would get so much fulfillment out of continuing my family's legacy of service to the place I call home.”

TMA Bucks also recognized Middletown Township, Rich Vona of the County of Bucks and engineering firm McMahon Associates for their dedication to TMA Bucks and its mission.

Bucks County District Attorney Matt Weintraub was the keynote speaker for the event and shared an emotional story about losing four high school friends in a car crash and how that tragedy shaped his career in law enforcement and led to his efforts to provide county-wide initiatives that promote traffic safety.

TMA Bucks is a non-profit transportation management association designed to promote and coordinate travel demand management strategies to reduce peak-hour traffic congestion and serve as a clearinghouse for transportation policies and programs throughout Bucks County.
