Torrential Rain Turns Roads Into "Raging Rapids" In Warwick

WARWICK, PA — Torrential rains turned streets into rivers on Thursday just as the evening rush hour was getting underway in Warwick Township and neighboring Warminster.

The Warwick Township Fire Company No. 1 reported “a very busy evening running multiple fire and marine calls” as murky brown floodwaters swamped roads and bridges throughout the township.

"It was absolutely terrifying driving home on roads that literally have a water current," posted one driver on Facebook.

Another compared County Line Road to "raging rapids ... it was terrible."

Among the roads impacted by the flooding were Mearns Road north of Bristol Road, Rushland Road at the "S" bend, Bristol Road at Meetinghouse Road, Creek Road, among others.

The Warwick firefighters were assisted by the Northampton Township Fire Department and the Hartsville Fire Company.

There were no reports of injuries.
