DOYLESTOWN BOROUGH, PA — Mother’s Day weekend is the perfect time to treat mom to some shopping and dining in downtown Doylestown Borough.

As part of Doylestown’s popular “Pedestrian Zone” program, East State Street will be closed to traffic on Saturday and Sunday, May 13 and 14 from 5 to 11 p.m. for outdoor dining and shopping.

The outdoor shopping and dining program allows for the closure of streets for pedestrian dining on the street. The closures of portions of East State, West State and Main Streets continue every other weekend through September on a rotating basis, allowing shops and restaurants to expand their operations into the streets.

The zones rotate between West State, East State and North Main Streets through the spring, summer, and into the fall. The zones will close to vehicular traffic from 5 to 11 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays with the last seating for dining at 10 pm. Downtown parking is free after 5 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays and available at the county parking facility at Broad and East Court for a modest fee.

Although originally a product of the borough’s Operation Doylestown pandemic response, the Pedestrian Zone Program has become a popular staple of Doylestown Borough spring and summer weekends.
