Tri-Municipal Parade Celebrates Nation's Birthday In Bucks County

Hundreds line the streets of Chalfont, New Britain Borough, and New Britain Township for the Independence Day march.

NEW BRITAIN BOROUGH, PA — A flag-waving celebration welcomed the Fourth of July on Tuesday as the Tri-Muncipal Parade marched through New Britain Borough, Chalfont Borough, and New Britain Township.

The parade had it all from Lady Liberty to Uncle Sam as patriotic tunes provided the marching music and politicians greeted the crowds.

Chalfont VFW Post No. 3268 celebrated New Britain Township's 300th with a giant birthday cake. And the New Galena Band set the tone with patriotic music.

The Chalfont Lions Club let out a roar as its float rolled by while the Rotarians celebrated "Service Above Self" and handed out candy and milk bone dog biscuits.

Wicked Waste had one of the more unique floats of the day - a dumpster swimming pool.

Action Karate brought the martial arts to the streets and Scout troops and athletic organizations marched by waving flags and handing out candy.

Toro Guacamole Mexican Restaurant featured a float celebrating the authentic Mexican food of America.

The Chalfont New Britain Township Joint Municipal Authority brought out its heavy equipment. Springbooke entertained from the back of a flatbed truck. And BucksBubbles.com made it "snow" in July.

The parade concluded with fire trucks and apparatus from Chalfont, Hilltown Township, and from Doylestown Fire Company No. 1.
