Tri-Township Out of the Babe Ruth World Series

Tri-Township's quest to win the Babe Ruth World Series ended Monday.

Tri-Township’s quest to win the Babe Ruth World Series ended Monday when they lost against the Columbia Basin River Dogs and failed to make the Championship Round on a tie-breaker.

“Although the loss is disappointing, the spirits these young men have raised, the impressiveness of their baseball play and character and the attention they have brought to our area will always be a positive reflection of our community. They have given us two national runs in four years, and they will be sure to bring continued success where they continue to play in high school and college,” team representatives said in a statement.

The team won their opening game against the Alabama Rawdogs on Friday. They lost Saturday to a team from San Gabriel Valley, Calif. and on Sunday, won against the Charleston Fighting Squirrels.
