Two Free Business Webinars Hosted By Bucks SCORE In September
SCORE will offer "Careers in Franchise Ownership: Is This Right for You?" and "What's Your Shtick? Personal Branding Online and Off."
BUCKS COUNTY, PA — In a continued effort to keep the local business community informed, SCORE Bucks County will offer two free webinars in September.
On Sept. 13, SCORE will offer “Careers in Franchise Ownership: Is This Right for You?”
Led by SCORE subject matter expert Mike Phillips, and SCORE certified mentor, Steve Baclini, the webinar will focus on the ins and outs of franchising.

Phillips and Baclini, who both have several decades of experience in food service management and food service franchises, will compare franchise ownership to other business ownership models and share insight on the benefits and disadvantages of each.
During the session, the SCORE mentors will:

- Review franchise facts and myths
- Explain the franchise disclosure document
- Discuss the due diligence research that is recommended
- Describe financial requirements and commitments
- Share reasons for franchise owners’ successes and failures
On Sept. 27, SCORE will present “What’s Your Shtick? Personal Branding Online and Off.” Presented by Lynne Williams, the executive director of the Great Careers Groups, the webinar will shed light on how to develop personal branding on LinkedIn.
Williams will discuss:
- How to determine keywords for your resume and LinkedIn profile
- Tips and best practices for business and networking cards
- The difference between taglines and slogans
- The six-word memoir
