2 New Officers Join The Force In Plumstead Township

PLUMSTEAD TOWNSHIP, PA — Two new police officers — Ahmed Elkadousy and Sean Cunningham — were sworn in as full- time officers at the Sept. 11 meeting of the Plumstead Township Board of Supervisors.

Elkadousy is a 2020 graduate of the Reading Police Academy earning the academy’s physical fitness award and has worked as a police officer prior to coming to Plumstead Township.

Elkadousy immigrated to the United States from Egypt when he was about 13 years old and is fluent in Arabic. He had worked many years in his family’s restaurant, then pursued his interest in law enforcement. He has attended Alvernia University, majoring in criminal justice.

Elkadousy comes to Plumstead after working as a part-time officer with the Northampton Borough Police Department. He previously held full-time positions with the Upper Macungie Police Department and the Freemansburg Borough Police Department.

Cunningham is a resident of Southampton Township and is a 2019 graduate of the Montgomery County Police Academy. He is also a graduate of the MaST Community Charter School in Philadelphia and a Community College of Philadelphia graduate, majoring in criminal justice.

After graduating from the police academy, Cunningham began his law enforcement career with the SEPTA Transit Police Department as a full-time officer and has worked with SEPTA from 2019 until today. Cunningham is coming to Plumstead with a solid law enforcement career and positive recommendations from his co-workers.
