“We are deeply grateful to the Gorskys and the Clarks for their leadership and significant investments in our future,” said Doylestown Health President and CEO Jim Brexler. “These transformational gifts will help us realize our vision as we approach our second century of delivering healthcare.”
Both the Gorskys and Clarks designated their commitments to Doylestown Health’s Second Century Fund, which is earmarked to support the priority needs of Doylestown Health’s capital projects at both the Doylestown Hospital and Pine Run Retirement Community campuses.

In addition to a state-of-the-art heart and vascular facility that is under construction on the Hospital’s main campus, additional priorities include new and expanded operating suites, a new outpatient pavilion, and upgraded and enhanced amenities for patients and families.
Alex and Patricia Gorsky’s $5 million gift was inspired by their affinity for Doylestown, according to Doylestown Health. Alex, CEO of Johnson & Johnson since 2012, was a Doylestown Hospital Board member and Patricia is a current member of the Doylestown Hospital Board of Directors. She is also a former nurse in the hospital’s cardiac catheterization lab.
“We are inspired and humbled by the trust that the Clarks and Gorskys have placed in this institution and join them in our desire to strengthen the future of Doylestown Health," said Mary Ellen Pelletier, president of the Doylestown Hospital medical staff.
The last major philanthropic campaign for Doylestown Health in 2008 supported the expansion of the Emergency Department.
“This campaign sets the stage for a new era of philanthropic giving at Doylestown Health,” said Laura K. Wortman, Vice President and Chief Development Officer. “The Clarks and Gorskys could go anywhere for health care but choose Doylestown Health. In that spirit they have embraced this opportunity to co-lead the first comprehensive campaign in the hospital’s history, helping to pave the way for our next century of delivering superior healthcare to the community.”
