Vehicle Vandalized, Man Charged With Trepassing: Plumstead Police

The Plumstead Township Police Department reported the following incidents and arrests between March 4 and 9.

PLUMSTEAD TOWNSHIP, PA — The Plumstead Township Police Department reported the following incidents between March 4 and March 9:

March 4

  • At 9:35 a.m., a Plumstead Township resident came into the station to report an incident of fraud. The resident told police that when she was filing her father’s taxes, their tax service alerted them that taxes were previously filed under the victim’s name. The resident was provided with a victim's rights packet and an identity theft packet. The case is under investigation.

  • At 12:49 p.m., officers responded to Kratz Carriage Road for a suspicious person report. A resident told police that her daughter saw two men walking the wooded property line. Officers arrived and patrolled the area on foot but were unable to locate the two men in question. Officers contacted the resident and she was satisfied with the outcome.
  • At 8:08 p.m., officers responded to Alder Drive for a domestic dispute in progress. When the officers arrived both parties were separated. The officers were able to de-escalate the situation and both parties agreed to separate for the evening.

March 7

  • At 9:25 a.m., officers responded to the Fred Beans Hyundai dealership on Swamp Road for a criminal mischief report. When officers arrived they met with the complainant, who said that he had video surveillance of a white vehicle pulling into the lot and vandalizing a vehicle. In a review of the video, a passenger is seen exiting the vehicle and smashing the window of a parked car. The incident remains under investigation.
  • At 6:02 p.m., officers received a phone call on a trespassing complaint. A resident told police that a known individual entered her home without permission after being told in the past that he is not welcome. Charges were filed against the 39-year-old from New Hope for defiant trespassing.

  • At 3:14 p.m., officers responded to Swetland Drive for a verbal domestic in progress. When the officers arrived, they met with a resident who said that he and his wife got into an argument and she took his vehicle keys so he could not leave. Officers were able to de-escalate the situation, retrieved the keys , and advised both parties to stay apart for the night.

March 9

  • At 5:41 a.m., officers responded to the Wawa on Easton Road for a retail theft. When the officers arrived, they met with the complainant who said that a gentleman walked in, took a pack of cigarettes, laid $2 on the counter, and walked out. Surveillance footage was obtained by police. The case remains under investigation.
