There's something about a beating drum
That makes all madness perfect sense.
As soon as stepping gains the street
Your head starts nodding right in time.
You'll be okay with anything
That's done while beating one and two.
Important stuff is much too hard
For waltzing out in one-two-three.
God loves those smiles and flags.
Every stance is more upright
When marching down a street.
When what you are is cheered out loud
By everyone you pass.
God knows if you are right or left
And just in case God's wrong,
A banner carried right out front
Will set each group in perfect place.
And then there are the horses
Shining proud and stepping high
They need no drumbeat, none at all,
To take their patriotic stance.
Tanks are fine but have no heart
While horses laugh and snort out loud
At common folk with just two feet.
God definitely loves the horses.
