Visibility Brigade To Remember Jan. 6th With Public Displays In Bucks Co.

BUCKS COUNTY, PA — In a first-of-its-kind display, more than a dozen Visibility Brigade groups from across Pennsylvania, including here in Bucks County, will be commemorating the events of Jan. 6, 2021, with public displays overlooking the busiest highways in the region.

"The Visibility Brigade is a decentralized movement at its core,” said Sharon Moon, a local coordinator for Visibility Brigade. “But for January 6th, we felt that we needed to coordinate with other groups across the Commonwealth to make a bigger impact. We cannot drop the events of January 6th into the memory hole if we want democracy to survive in these United States.”

“January 6th was not just an assault on the nation’s Capitol, it was an attack on democracy in general," said Amy M., Visibility Brigade Doylestown. "The peaceful transition of power is critical to the health of our nation, and if we want to bring back a thriving democracy, we must remember that lies and purposeful stoking of violence by power-hungry leaders led to that horrifying day.”

“President Trump may have the power to pardon violent criminals and return them to our communities, but he cannot wipe those crimes committed on January 6, 2021 from the mind of the people, ” said Jenn M., Visibility Brigade Bucks County. “We saw police officers who were viciously attacked on January 6th. We saw our Capitol defiled with excrement and trash, broken glass and smashed doors. We saw terrified lawmakers running from would-be attackers. We saw the heart of our democracy vandalized. We will not forget it, and we will put our efforts towards ensuring our neighbors do not forget it, either.”
