Warrington Awarded More Than $700K For Road Improvement Projects

WARRINGTON TOWNSHIP, PA — Warrington Township has been awarded more than $700,000 in grants through the Commonwealth Financing Authority's Multimodal Transportation Fund program to encourage economic development and ensure that a safe and reliable system of transportation.

The grants include $486,500 to complete preliminary engineering to improve the intersection of Easton and Bristol Roads and $255,000 for intersection and roadway improvements as part of redeveloping a Wawa Super Store.

The funding was announced by State Senator Frank Farry and State Rep. Brian Monroe.

“I’m pleased to have helped secure this funding for important projects and upgrades for Warrington,” Farry said. “The approved state grant funding will greatly benefit the township and enhance our infrastructure reliability for years to come.”

“These state grants help keep local taxes down and represent your state tax dollars coming home to our district,” Munroe said. “I’m happy to support local projects that benefit so many of our residents. Thank you to the Shapiro administration and to the municipal and county staff who made these substantial awards possible. Their hard work reflects highly on our region.”

The CFA was established in 2004 as an independent agency of the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development to administer the commonwealth’s economic stimulus packages. The Pennsylvania Race Horse Development and Gaming Act of 2004 provides for
the distribution of gaming revenue through the CFA and its LSA program.
