WARRINGTON, PA — Township officials will cut the ribbon on its new $1.7 million Lindy Community Center at Lions Pride Park during a ceremony on Friday, May 3 beginning at 11 a.m.

The $1.7 million project, designed to centralize the township's recreational activities, features a multi-purpose room that can accommodate up to 100 people, a lobby and pre-function area, and an outside covered porch and patio area.

The building will be home to the township's recreational, educational, and environmental programs. It will also be available for small group rentals.

The project is being paid for, in part, by a $500,000 Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program grant from the Pennsylvania Department of Commerce and Economic Development, and a contribution from Lindy Communities, which purchased the naming rights for the center.

Lindy Communities, which owns and operates Warrington Crossings and The Park at Warrington, has been a supporter of township recreational projects for many years, including the recently completed DocterAdams Community Park.

“Each Lindy Community prides itself on community involvement,” said Alan Lindy, principal of Lindy Communities. “Supporting the places where we live is one of our core values.”

The township is picking up the balance of the cost, including other naming rights opportunities for the meeting room, lobby and foyer, and covered patio and porch.

Located at the former site of Twin Oaks Day Camp in Warrington, Lions Pride Park features Lindy Communities Kids Mountain and the Toll Brothers Grove, completed in 2020, as well as a wetland habitat which will be completed later this year.
