Warrington Man Charged With Unlawful Contact With 9-Year-Old Child

Police say that the man was staying at the residence of the 9-year-old's family when an assault occurred.

WARRINGTON, PA — A 46-year-old Warrington man is facing charges after police say he assaulted a 9-year-old child in the township.

On July 27, Warrington Police responded to the 2200 block of Pileggi Road for the report of an indecent assault that occurred to a 9-year-old child.

Through an investigation, police said Jose Armando Mestanza Ortiz was positively identified as the suspect. Police say that Mestanza Ortiz was staying at the residence of the 9-year-old's family when the assault allegedly occurred.

A warrant was issued for Mestanza Ortiz’s arrest and on August 9 he was placed under arrest, transported to the station, and charged with unlawful contact with a minor, indecent assault, and corruption of a minor.

He was arraigned before Judge Wertman who set bail at $900,000 or 10 percent cash.

Mestanza Ortiz was unable to post bail and was transported to the Buck’s County Correctional Facility to await court action.
