Warrington Police Make Numerous Retail Theft Arrests
5 charged with theft, receiving stolen property for incidents at Target, Walmart, TJ Maxx and Wegmans.
WARRINGTON TOWNSHIP, PA — The Warrington Township Police Department reported the following incidents between August 5 and 22:
August 5
- Police responded to Target for a retail theft in progress. Upon arrival loss prevention related that a Philadephia man selected Pokémon cards and toys valued at $185.13. He then placed them in a small trash can offered for sale. He proceeded to self-checkout and paid for the trash can while failing to pay for the concealed merchandise. He was placed under arrest and transported to the station where he was charged with retail theft and receiving stolen property.
August 6

- Police responded to Wegmans for a retail theft in progress. Upon arrival loss prevention related that a Philadelphia man had been detained for retail theft. He selected $223.91 worth of merchandise and concealed it in a bag. He then made a small purchase but failed to pay for the concealed merchandise. He was placed under arrest and transported to the station where he was processed and charged with retail theft and receiving stolen merchandise.
August 20
- Police responded to TJ Maxx for the report of a retail theft. Upon arrival loss prevention related on August 19 that a man selected merchandise including a luggage bag and staged it in another part of the store and then exited the store. A few minutes later, Sterling Warren from Philadelphiaentered the store and picked up the luggage along with other merchandise, concealing the merchandise and exiting the store while failing to pay for the merchandise. Total stolen was $422.89. A warrant was issued for Warren's arrest. He was located on September 5th in Warminster. He was taken into custody and transported to the station where he was processed and charged with felony retail theft and receiving stolen merchandise. He was arraigned by Judge Wertman who set bail at $50,000 or 10 percent cash. Unable to post bail, he was transported to the Bucks County Correctional Facility.
August 22

- Police responded to Wegmans for the report of a retail theft. Loss prevention told police that Michael John Coleman and Elizabeth Marie Gowen from Philadelphia stole $116.53 worth of merchandise. Coleman and Gowen selected merchandise and proceeded to the café where they ate some merchandise and concealed the rest of the merchandise. Coleman and Gowen exited the store while failing to pay for the concealed merchandise. Both suspects were placed under arrest, and both were found in possession of narcotics and drug paraphernalia. Coleman and Gowen were transported to the station where they were processed and released. They were charged with retail theft, receiving stolen merchandise, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
