A Warrington police officer and K-9 handler has died, the department announced Monday afternoon.

WARRINGTON, PA — A Warrington Township police officer and K-9 handler has died, the department announced Monday afternoon.
It's not yet clear what led to the death Officer Stephen Plum Jr., an eight-year veteran of the force.
Police said that further details on the situation would be provided in the coming days.

Plum worked with K-9 Murphy.
"The officers and staff of the Warrington Township Police Department are going through an extremely difficult time as we mourn the loss our Officer and friend," the department said in a statement. "Please keep his family in your thoughts during this difficult time."
