Weekend Fire Heavily Damages Garage In Hilltown Township

Due to the quick response and coordinated efforts on scene, the fire was contained to the garage with minimal damage to the home.

HILLTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — A fire heavily damaged an attached garage and a car Sunday afternoon at Forest Road and Minsi Trail in Hilltown Township.

Engine 61 from the Hilltown Fire Company, returning from an incident nearby, arrived on scene first and reported an attached garage with fire showing. A handline was quickly placed in service, while Dublin Fire Chief 23 arrived and requested a tanker task force due to the lack of hydrants in the area.

Upon confirmation of a working fire, additional companies were called to the scene to assist Dublin and Hilltown

Due to the quick response of Engine 61 and coordinated efforts on scene, the fire was contained to the garage with minimal damage to the home's interior. Firefighters remained at the scene for about an hour.

The Bucks County Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of the fire. There were no reported injuries.

Assisting Dublin at the scene were: Hilltown (60/61), Silverdale (59), Perkasie (26), Sellersville (27), Ottsville (49), Chalfont (34), Doylestown (19), Plumsteadville (24), Palisades, Point Pleasant (41), and Haycock (63).

Fire Safety Reminder: Attached garage fires can rapidly extend into the home. Firefighters strongly encourage homeowners to install smoke detectors in their garages and to make sure they are interconnected with detectors inside the home or tied into a monitored alarm system. Early detection can save lives and limit damage.
