Youth Fishing Derby Casts Off Saturday In Doylestown

There will be free food, including burgers, hot dogs, soda and water ice from Annie's Water Ice.

DOYLESTOWN, PA — Doylestown Borough will host its Opening Day Youth Fishing Derby
this Saturday, April 6 starting at 8 a.m. at the Doylestown Borough Dam in Fanny Chapman Park.

The Opening Day event is free for children 16 and younger. There will be free food, including burgers, hot dogs, soda, and refreshments. The weather as of now looks good for Saturday: the National Weather Service is predicting partly cloudy skies with temperatures near 52.

In addition to the opening day derby, a fishing derby for seniors, veterans and people with disabilities takes place on May 4 at 8 a.m. Rods and bait will be provided if needed. Plus, there will be free sandwiches. The rain date is May 5.

The derby is sponsored by the Friends of the Borough Dam, The Doylestown Rotary Club, Dave's Sports Center and the Borough of Doylestown.
