• Rainy Interstate 80 Crash Sends Two Passengers to Hospital in Jefferson County (gantnews.com) — A rainy Interstate 80 crash in Pine Creek Township sent two passengers to Penn Highlands DuBois with suspected minor injuries after their SUV lost control while passing a tractor-trailer. State police from the DuBois barracks say everyone was properly restrained, and the Falls Creek child involved was in a booster seat. The North Carolina driver was cited for driving at an unsafe speed.
   

• Driver Uninjured After Vehicle Lands On Boulder in Bloom Township Crash (explorejeffersonpa.com) — A Falls Creek driver escaped injury after his car left Route 219 in Bloom Township and came to rest on top of a large boulder, according to state police in DuBois. Troopers say the Hyundai Elantra failed to negotiate a curve, hit an embankment, then landed on the rock in a nearby yard. The driver was cited for driving at an unsafe speed.
   

• Elva R. (Wriglesworth) Collins (gantnews.com) — DuBois and Falls Creek residents are mourning Elva R. Collins, 89, who passed away June 27 at Christ the King Manor in DuBois. She worked for many years at the DuBois Cable Office and later welcomed neighbors as a coffee hostess at the Falls Creek Sheetz. Her family suggests memorial donations to the DuBois Area Food Pantry in her honor.
