Kiddie Academy of Collegeville will host Hero Play Day on Saturday, Aug. 1 at 10 a.m. for infants to 12-year-olds. Families are invited to attend this free community event designed to help children recognize and celebrate their personal heroes.
The new hands-on event will be an opportunity for children to dress up as their favorite superhero and participate in “training” stations set up around the Academy, including obstacle courses, strength tests and kindness missions.
Refreshments will be provided. St. John’s presents The Four Bones – A Premiere Trombone Quartet in a vibrant and wide‑ranging concert. Known for their rich sound, engaging repertoire, and polished ensemble playing, The Four Bones brings an exciting musical experience to audiences of all ages

Formed in 2024, the quartet features four accomplished low‑brass musicians from the Chester County area: Scott Cullen, Ron Evans, Jim Olson, and Will Shafer. Together, they showcase the expressive versatility of the trombone through a program that spans classical transcriptions, sacred works, jazz influences, contemporary selections, and crowd‑pleasing favorites. Selections include Classical Works by Haydn, Beethoven Victoria; show tunes and jazz by Carmichael and Cohan; and contemporary compositions by David Holsinger.
Tickets are not required but a freewill offering, with a suggested donation of $10, will be received.

Exciting, spectacular, dazzling, breathtaking, exhilarating, spirited, soulful, enchanting, captivating, and intriguing – modest words which describe but by no means capture the essence of Ukrainian folk art, music, song and dance.From the rich color and deep symbolism of the delicate “pysanka” (Ukrainian Easter Egg) to the thunderous, power, rhythm and strength of “HOPAK” – the world’s most exciting ethnic dance, and every brilliant “Kolomiyka” (polka) and soulful folk song in between, experience the UKRAINIAN FOLK FESTIVAL 2026, celebrating the 35th anniversary of our ancestral homeland’s independence. Enjoy an outdoor summer stage concert and show (1:30 to 4:30 PM), live orchestra music (4:30 – 8:00 PM), traditional Ukrainian foods and baked goods, BBQ pit, standard picnic fare, vendors grove, arts and crafts displays and bazaar, cool adult and soft refreshments, Live exhibitors of Ukrainian history and Ukrainian hospitality.
