📰 News we're reading
• Fewer huts, higher fees. Vendors vent about 'reimagined' Easton Winter Village. (lehighvalleylive.com) — Easton's Winter Village is being overhauled with far fewer vendor huts and sharply higher rental fees, frustrating some longtime sellers who say they weren't consulted and, in one case, were banned after online criticism. City officials and the Greater Easton Development Partnership argue the changes reflect lost COVID-era funding and a push to drive more shoppers into downtown Easton businesses rather than concentrating activity in Centre Square.

• Bigger paychecks coming for Gracedale nursing supervisors (wfmz.com) — Northampton County officials meeting in Easton have approved significant pay raises for 27 Gracedale nursing supervisors, aiming to cut reliance on costly agency nurses and improve safety and staffing stability at the county-run home. County Executive Tara Zrinski says the move is part of a broader operational overhaul following a critical grand jury report, with a goal of sharply reducing agency staff by mid-2027.

• Volleyball Outlasts Lafayette in Five-Set Affair (bucknellbison.com) — In Easton, Lafayette's volleyball team dropped a tight five-set home match to Bucknell after leading two sets to one and dominating the third. Despite strong stretches, the Leopards couldn't close out the Bison, who surged back in the fourth and controlled the decisive fifth set.
