Our final Emerging Artists Series concert of the season features the acclaimed Peruvian pianist Priscila Navarro performing “Airs and Songs of Spring” by Bach, Schumann, Rachmaninoff, Albéniz, and Gershwin.Described as a “phenomenal talent” by the Atlanta Audio Club, Priscila was the first prize winner in the Liszt-Garrison International Piano Competition, Beethoven Piano Sonata Competition, and International Chopin Competition of Texas, among others. She also won the Bach Prize at the City of Vigo International Piano Competition in Spain, where she was one of five finalists out of over 400 participants, with a jury presided by Martha Argerich; the Christa Bach-Marschall Foundation prize at the 2022 Leipzig Bach Competition; and the 2023 Astral Artists National Auditions. 
Priscila earned a doctorate in piano performance and pedagogy as well as a masters and artist diploma from the University of Miami’s Frost School of Music, graduated summa cum laude from Florida Gulf Coast University, and is now on the faculty at the prestigious piano department of the University of Kansas in 2024. Bring your family and friends to the Purcellville Music and Arts Festival on Saturday, April 25 from noon to 7 p.m. rain or shine. This free, family-friendly event will be held at Fireman’s Field Park and inside the Bush Tabernacle Skating Rink at 250 South Nursery Avenue.

Enjoy a full day of live music and performances across multiple stages, along with an art exhibit, games, chalk art, and a variety of interactive activities. Browse offerings from local vendors featuring handcrafted goods, food, beverages, and more. There will be fun for all ages, including face painting, glitter tattoos, sidewalk chalk art, and t-shirt or tote bag decorating. Local non-profits will also be on-site sharing information and resources. Special activities will highlight and celebrate the 250th anniversary of America’s independence. 
Inside the Bush Tabernacle Skating Rink—transformed into the Art Hall—you’ll find more than 30 works of art, live performances, art demonstrations, and hands-on activities including quilt square decorating and an Instrument Petting Zoo. Be sure to pick up a festival scavenger hunt booklet and complete it for a chance to win a prize!
