2. 2 men accused of stealing more than $4K in power tools from Cranberry Township Home Depot (butlereagle.com) — Police say a man from Ellwood City and another from Cranberry Township are accused of stealing more than $4,000 in power tools from the Cranberry Home Depot, with similar incidents under investigation. The charges include multiple felony counts of retail theft, receiving stolen property, and conspiracy. Preliminary hearings have not yet been scheduled as the case moves forward.

Forever Media Sells Froggy 104.3 WOGI to Family Life (barrettmedia.com) — Ellwood City listeners may notice broader changes in regional radio as Family Life Ministries, which recently bought WKPL Ellwood City, has now purchased country station Froggy 104.3 WOGI near Pittsburgh from Forever Media. The nonprofit owner hasn’t yet announced programming changes, but the deal could eventually influence how local and regional stations compete for country music audiences.

Barbara Ann Hall, 65 (ellwoodcity.org) — Ellwood City is closely tied to the life of Barbara Ann Hall, who was born here, graduated from Riverside High School, and leaves behind siblings and family still living in town. The 65-year-old Tionesta resident passed away July 31, 2026, after a life spent working in area businesses, enjoying the outdoors, and building decades-long friendships at the Leeper Flea Market.
