Driver Spins, Hits Upper Milford Tree, Police Say

Zionsville woman is slightly hurt, but does not require treatment, troopers report.

A Zionsville woman was slightly hurt recently when her van slid, spun and struck a tree on a hill in Upper Milford Township, according to police.

Susan M. Kirby, 57, had a minor injury but did not require transport to a hospital after her accident at 6:37 p.m. March 18, said state police at Fogelsville.

She was traveling down a grade in front of 4264 Mill Road near Shimerville Road when she lost control, police said. Kirby's Chrysler Town and Country van spun half way around and struck a tree.

Police did not note weather conditions, but it was snowing throughout the Lehigh Valley around the time of the crash.

Kirby received a written warning for driving at an unsafe speed for conditions but was not cited, police said.
